Why Reaper One Exists

Reaper One Seasoning wasn’t built in a boardroom—it was built through hardship, discipline, and a refusal to stay where life tried to leave me.

I served 12 years in the United States Air Force and 4 years in law enforcement as a Shreveport Police Officer. In 2015, I lost a close friend in combat, and it sent me into a deep depression. For years, I stayed busy just to avoid thinking about it—living on autopilot, not really living at all.

The only place I found any peace was in the kitchen.

Cooking became my escape. Something I could control. Something that made sense.

Everything changed when my son was born.

Like any father, I had dreams of raising him to become better than me—to take on the world and chase whatever he wanted. But shortly after he was born, he was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called TRIO gene mutation.

In that moment, I realized something:
he may never get the same opportunities I had imagined for him.

So, I made a decision:

If he can’t get it for himself, I’ll get it for him.

That’s when everything shifted.

I left the military after 12 years of service and committed fully to building something real—something that could last. I invested in my education and trained at the Culinary Institute of America, determined to master my craft and become one of the best.

After graduating, I spent the summer of 2024 working under Esaul Ramos at 2M Smokehouse in Texas—one of the most respected names in BBQ and later recognized as a Michelin-recommended restaurant. That experience shaped my understanding of flavor, discipline, and what it truly takes to operate at a high level—from fine dining kitchens to Texas smokehouses.

From there, I helped build a catering company with my friend Alex called Deathcore BBQ, where we served Texas-style BBQ to touring musicians across the state. During that time, I developed original dishes, including a full vegan BBQ menu, and continued refining my own recipes.

That’s where Reaper One really began.

What started as small-batch seasoning experiments turned into something bigger when I connected with Preston Adkins of Adkins Seasoning. With his guidance and support, we launched our first production run in 2025 and began building the brand.

Today, Reaper One Seasoning stands on one principle:

Everything is built—not copied.

Every blend is chef-crafted from scratch.
No fillers.
No shortcuts.
No copy-and-paste formulas.

Just real seasoning, built for real cooking.

This isn’t just another seasoning company.

This is something I’m building for my family, my future, and for anyone who takes pride in doing things the right way.

This is Reaper One.
